Quilt Square another relic of your memory
I had to prepare
The last picture I took of you, I will share
Posing amid a candy castle
Sweet treats, a candy store
A lasting memory, I adore
This is the first poem I wrote to my son on
June 25, 2015
He gave me two journals before he passed away
I write poetry to my son everyday
Coping with grief in my own way
Strange how poetry flows from my mind
What comfort do I find
Lasting memories of my son, who was gentle and kind
Another poem for my son today:
Ten by ten your quilt square shall be
Pin it on the wall for all to see
My baby, my son, only twenty-two years old
Organ donation was your intention
The gift of life you shared
Your heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs
Four are living because you cared
A ceremony of life, for the living and the dead
An honorable medal will be given to me
A symbol of your unselfish deed
I will place the medal on your grave
It belongs to you, no one else
My son the hero
