Ronald P. Myers

February 6, 1958 – November 15, 2015

Ron was a man who possessed a benevolent personality, dazzling blue eyes , sparkling smile, infectious laugh, pure heart and good-natured soul. Ron lived life to the fullest and was a blessing to many; a devout family-man truly loved by all who were lucky to know him. People may forget what he said and did, but they will always remember how he made them feel.

A member of the “flower power” generation, Ron grew up during the civil of rights movement, Woodstock, the Vietnam War, and in a generation that truly valued relationships. He was one of seven children of Thelma and Clair Myers, born in Allenport, Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. Ron married Lisa Ann Townsley in 1982; together, they created their beautiful daughter, Leslie Ann.

Ron started his career as a farm-boy in Charlie Harper’s before and after school program; he developed his carpentry skills under his father tutelage, and established his cooking skills at Bill Ewing’s restaurant on Route 522 before graduating as a proud member of the Mount Union Area High School Class of 1976. After graduation, Ron honed his painting, plumbing, electrical, and masonry skills, in addition to being a dairyman for the Milton Hershey School, jimbo operator for Conrail, and a member of Carpenter’s Local Union #431. Ultimately, he owned and managed Ron & Lisa rental properties.

Ron served as a Board Member, Sunday School Teacher, Worship Leader, Choir & Orchestra member and Construction/Maintenance Committee Chair throughout his Christian life.

Ron’s Passions included spending time at his cabin, his coffee “clubs”, playing cards, trips to Walt Disney World, enjoying pool time in Mexico, Steelers and Penn State Football, singing , and most of all his family, friends, and his 4 – legged buddies, Max, Blake, and Smokey. His absolute love of life, family, friends and country inspired many.
