Gwendolyn was born on a special date – 9/9/88. From the beginning, she loved animals. She loved not only our pets but also endangered animals, including manatees or sea turtles. We had a relative living in FL and she would make Gwendolyn clothing out of ocean life material.
The quilt square we are giving in Gwendolyn’s memory is from a skirt and has her beloved manatees on it. Gwendolyn volunteered for Pet Pantry, a cat rescue organization, and she was the care taker of our family’s pets, 3 cats and 2 dogs. We are doing our best to live up to her standard of care.
Gwendolyn loved God and all of God’s creations. Gwendolyn died at the age of 28 and we held her celebration of life service on her 29th birthday. It was easy for us to ask about donating Gwendolyn’s organs because we knew right away that what she would’ve wanted. Her lungs, left kidney and right kidney, both corneas were transplanted and her pancreas studied at medical school.
