On Jan. 8, 2021 Pennsylvania will host its second annual PA Donor Day, a chance to galvanize our friends and neighbors to rally behind the nearly 7,000 Pennsylvanians who are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Why January 8th? This is because just 1 registered donor has the power to save 8 lives.
My own life has been deeply touched by organ donation. In 1997, my 12-year-old son Jonathan fell from his bike and suffered fatal head injuries. I knew very little about organ and tissue donation at the time, but we made the decision and five of Jonathan’s organs helped save the lives of four people. Since then, I’ve done all I can to support awareness of organ donation and registration.’
