In Loving Memory of Elizabeth “Betty” Tennett

12/30/63-5/4/21

This patch of quilt is made from a section of blanket that belonged to my wife “Betty” since she was a young child. As every person has a life journey, this blanket had one all its own. If I remember the story correctly, the Blanket was a gift after a tragic fire destroyed their family home. The Blanket is over 50 years old and traveled everywhere with her, from childhood sleepovers, camping trips and our adventures down at the Jersey shore. As our family grew, this blanket was at many children’s baseball, football, lacrosse and cheer competitions. This blanket was for grandchildren to cuddle and watch a favorite movie with their “GiGi.” Late in life it was to sit outside at her favorite winery and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. Betty loved travel, rides on our Harley, visit wineries, and of course “Girls weekends away” to the beach, mountains or just someone’s backyard.

To me Betty was my high school sweetheart and loving wife. She is the mother to our three children and GiGi to our six grandchildren. Betty was also the mother of our children’s friends while they were growing up, took them all in and loved them all. She is a daughter, daughter-in-law, sister and sister-in-law that is dearly missed. A true friend to many, would be with them through the good and the bad.

Although we did not receive the miracle we so prayed for, we are thankful Betty’s kidney was the “Gift of Life” that another family was hoping for. As a “Donor Family” we can only hope the gentleman that received Betty’s kidney is doing well after all he had been through.

You are dearly missed by your loving family and friends.
