Mary Ann Ward was a juvenile diabetic from the age of nine. She died of heart disease complicated by diabetes. We walk in her memory for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation every year.
This photo of her was taken at the Nurses Memorial in Washington, D.C. on Veteran's Day. She was very active with the Veteran's of Foreign Wars in their ladies Auxiliary. She was known as "Gypsy" because of her free spirit. She was a great person and a great Mom. We all miss her terribly!
