Kyndi Bertoia

Kyndi Bertoia passed from this world on January 12, 2001, at the age of 21. She came from a background of successful artists, beginning with her grandfather, Harry Bertoia (world famous), and grandmother (author). Her father, Val, is known for his work with metal sculpture and electric generating windmills. Her mother, Kylene, is an accomplished massage therapist and Reiki Master.

Kyndi had an ability to think artistically "outside the box", which is what this quilt piece demonstrates It is entitled "Kyndi's Krazy Kornerz". Her youthful spirit loved music, fashion design, and just plain fun. The flowered fabric in the patch came from an Hawaiian mumu worn by Kyndi's mom when she was pregnant with Kyndi and which she herself wore during her last years here.

Myriah was her middle name, after the wind. In many ways, she was the beautiful, warm breeze that blew through our lives and gently touched our souls and the souls of those she gave her gift of love.
