Garry D. Conklin

The piece of fabric I chose for the memorial quilt reflects the great love for hunting and the wilderness that my late husband Gary had.

This picture of him was taken in British Columbia in September of 1986 when he took a hunting trip with some friends and caught a very large elk, which he had mounted and was displayed in our living room wall.

He had great love for the mountains, trees and the adventure for the outdoors. He was certainly a true outdoors man, among other talents of being a great carpenter and skilled machinist.

I am so very proud to have this picture of him displayed on the memorial quilt, for he loved life and lived it to the fullest, and enjoyed helping others.

He is truly missed by family and friends, but having this quilt is a beautiful tribute to him and others for their gift of life becoming donors.
