James A. Bowen

1/8/34 – 8/1/05

Jim was a people person. He loved talking to people and finding out about that person's life and family. He was always up for a good time and a good laugh. He was always available to help someone whether they be family or friend. He loved his family. He loved to shop at the supermarkets and use coupons to get a good buy. He owned a small store in the Olney section of Philadelphia and marketed food products all his life. When he retired, he went to work for Clemens Family Market as a cashier. He would often offer advice to the managers and owners of the market on how to display items and care for vegetables. He often advised other owners of different markets how to market items. He really enjoyed the food business and all the people involved in it. Jim really enjoyed his life and all that it held. He is sorely missed by many friends and especially his family.

The submitted quilt square is representing Jim and his life. The upper left corner is the KING OF THE COUPONS – The upper right corner stands for his CHURCH involvement – The lower left corner stands for his love of MOUNTAINS and the lower right corner stands for his love of FISHING.

By Jim's organ donation he once again has helped many people. His generosity lives on!
