Matthew John Monaghan

Born October 5, 1971 – Died October 25, 2005

Matt was a gentle loving soul who always helped others in need. He would go out day or night to help anyone.

He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, trucks, repairing cars, rock concerts of the 80's, Arrowsmith, A/C-D/C, Metallica and Ted Nugent. Matt worked hard in labor, building homes, construction and maintenance.

His favorite hobby was riding his quad in the woods, finding new trails and waterfalls. It didn't matter if it rained or snowed, he would ride through the mud or snow, the rougher the better.

His favorite foods were hot wings, pizza, anything chocolate, especially cake, ice cream, and chocolate cream pie.

Matt loved his family. He was a devoted son to his mother. The youngest of two brothers, Kevin and Paul and one sister, Mary Lynn, a sister-in-law Wendy, two nephews, Michael (who was like a son to Matt), and Joshua (his godchild), a loving niece, Karyssa, cousins David and Michele who were like a brother and sister and his Uncle Jake and many, many friends.

Matt was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and lived his life by the 12 steps of AA. He was Catholic by religion and a member of the Matt Talbot Retreat Lodge. He could never see anything bad in anyone. He always looked for good. He helped many young men and women in their recovery journey from alcoholism.

Matt loved his Lord and was always seeking to get closer to Jesus and follow His way. Matt's favorite prayer:

Shepherd me O Lord

Beyond my wants

Beyond my needs

From death into life.

Rest in the arms of Our Lord, Matt.
