Garry T. Sutley

Garry was taken us unexpectedly November 9, 2005. We have two children, Rebecca (husband Warren) and Allan (wife Beverly), three grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael and Chelsea. We were married 39 years. Extended family includes his dear mother, Esther, brother Chuck and sister, Crystal and their families.

The quilt block is made from his shirts. When I see these shirts I feel the daily hug before he left for work. The buttons represent how he held us all together, his passing has left gaping holes!

As a teenager, Garry accepted the Lord as his savior and throughout his life gave of himself and his means to help others. He pastured churches in Nebraska, New York and Pennsylvania. For the past 20 years was Director of Ministries for Christian radio station, WTLR/WQJU in Central PA. He loved the hymns of the church and had memorized many of them. He enjoyed working with words, creating poems and articles which we cherish. Debating was also a favorite activity, whether it be theology, politics or sports. Our Sunday dinners with family and friends will be remembered more for the lively conversations than the food! When his health permitted, he loved to fish, hunt, golf and watch football. He was a dedicated Penn State fan.

Because of his love to help others, I was not surprised when he told me he had marked his driver’s license that he wanted to be a donor, it was so like him
