Matthew J. Tuthill

Matthew was born at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, New Jersey. He grew up in Northfield, New Jersey, attending grammar school and middle. He graduated from Mainland Regional High School in 1988.

During his years from 10 to 14 Matt was active in the Boy Scout Troop in Northfield. During that period he went to Summer camp and earned the merit badges shown on his quilt square. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his family many friends. After high school he worked as a Security Officer at the casino for 14 years right up to the day before he suffered a stroke. His interests were in music and he was an avid Flyers fan. Matt looked forward to spending his weekends with his son, Matthew. They enjoyed ball games, movies and watching football and hockey on television. They also enjoyed playing video games together.

On October 16, 2004 Matt suffered a stroke at the age of 34. After spending six weeks at Bacharach Rehabilitation Center he seemed to be making great progress and received outpatient therapy. Later his condition deteriorated and in August 2005 he suffered a second stroke. After spending three weeks at Shore Memorial Hospital he was transferred to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. On September 11, 2005 he passed away. Although we miss him very much we know that he was able to donate his organs and he lives in others.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Matthew, his older brothers, Rick and Tim, his sister-in-law, Angela, his niece, Lily and Mom and Dad.
