Raymond Bickel

Raymond H. "Mickey" Bickel, was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend.

He passed away after suffering a massive stroke following open heart surgery. Ray retired 6 months prior to his surgery and was looking forward to enjoying the many activities that he loved. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater. He loved anything to do with the outdoors and every year would go on camping and fishing trips to Canada, the Outer Banks, and many of the National Parks.

This quilt patch was created by his mother and symbolizes his love of the outdoors. There are pictures of fish and a pocket from a shirt he wore on his boat which he named, 'Bickel's Last Nickel'.

Other things that Ray loved were the holidays, especially Christmas, his faithful dog, Copper, and the New York Yankees and Jets. He was a Veteran and had served his country in the army. He worked for many years as a computer programmer.

Raymond was eligible to donate his liver, kidneys and corneas. The family finds comfort knowing that he lives on in others.

Even though Ray is no longer with us physically, he will always be in our hearts. We miss him very much.

Love, his wife, Barbara Bittner Bickel
