Robert Kennedy

Robert Kennedy

This quilt patch encompasses the parts of Robert Kennedy's life that made him whole. The green background represents his Irish heritage. The wedding rings symbolize the twenty five years that he was a loyal husband to his wife. The children replicate his daughter and two sons, to whom he was a devoted father. The dog signifies the soft spot he had in his heart for the pets he had throughout his life. The Broadway playbill embodies his love for the theater and music. The police car pays homage to the 18 years that he dedicated his life as a police officer. The words "follow your gut" are a piece of advice that he often imparted upon his loved ones. Bob's role as a husband, father, pet owner, and police officer showed him how to be loving, compassionate, and selfless. He exhibited those characteristics throughout his life, and ultimately, in his death. His last deed was an altruistic one that truly embodies his giving nature, the one that his loved ones experienced daily. Although his loved ones are no longer able to experience these characteristics through Bob, we know that they live on.
