This quilt square is dedicated to the beautiful memory of a very special and loving man – Gary Schnell.
Gary went to see Our Lord on September 24, 2010. He had a life full of love – love he gave so freely to us. As The Beatles song says, “The love you take is equal to the love you make.” We truly believe Gary took an endless amount of love with him to Heaven.
There was no hesitation with “The Gift of Life”. Gary would have given freely of himself to help anyone. With this “gift”, we know he will live on in others – especially those sparkling blue eyes!
The square represents some of the “love” in Gary’s life:
- The Phillies – they were his #1 team. As a true fan, he was always behind them – in their good and bad years.
- The Pittsburgh Steelers – he just loved them.
- Las Vegas – he loved the fun and excitement – from the lights on “The Strip”, to the exhilaration in the casinos.
- Goofy – a trip to Disneyworld wasn’t complete without getting a picture with Goofy – a true sign of the fun Gary had in his life.
- The difference – Jesus pin. Gary had a deep love for Jesus, and his Catholic faith.
- Our favorite love song – “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You”. Gary, you have had my whole life, too, for over 30 years.
We will always remember you in so many ways:
Your humor (no one could tell a joke like you, especially Ralph the talking dog, your laughter; your kindness; your faith; your friendship; and your love of family, especially for Olivia, Julia, Jessica and Delaney.
We love and miss you so much, Gary. God Bless.
