Carlie Maia James

A beautiful baby girl named Carlie Maia James entered this world at 5:11 a.m. on September 3, 1998. She is the second oldest of five daughters. Carlie was a beautiful girl with a gentle, giving, and compassionate heart. She was known for her unselfish giving. Carlie gave without the expectation of receiving. She was also a peacemaker. Carlie loved with her whole heart. She has been referred to as an "old soul." She knew how to make people laugh. Carlie was witty and very funny. Carlie was diagnosed with Benign Rolandic Epilepsy in March 2008. On May 4, 2010, Carlie had a severe seizure. Due to the lack of oxygen to the brain, she succumbed to brain death. We prayed fervently for a miracle but were denied one. Our Gracious Lord had other plans. When organ donation was brought to our attention, there was no need to think it over. Our hearts knew what Carlie would have done if she had to make this decision on her own-YES! Save a life or lives.

During those difficult days, it brought us much joy to save many lives as we could. On May 7, 2010 at 9:39 a.m., Carlie Maia James was in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We miss her deeply and our hearts ache and long for her. We miss her beautiful smile, her tender heart, her laughter, and most of all, her presence among us. We will one day reunite. As each day passes, we are a day closer to seeing her beautiful face. OH BOY what a day that will be!!!
