Curtis Washington

It was George Eliot who once wrote that "Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them." This I believe is true. I pause to reflect on my son Curtis Washington, his life, his legacy. Curtis possessed a tremendous love for music, people, and laughter. He was also an avid basketball fan who was extremely delighted to get an opportunity to be an assistant intern helper for one of the physicians who worked for the Philadelphia 76ers. He assisted the players in many different ways for some seasons.

Collecting watches and driving expensive cars were another huge source of attraction for Curtis, yet above all these, he was a very loving and caring individual who spared no thought to attend to the welfare and needs of others. He was a giver. One friend described him as someone who "seemed to have a big heart for mankind." He was generous even unto death.

Though the flesh is gone it is those happy days I remember. The hugs and laughter!!! Curtis was a Godly individual who was fascinated with the number 7 as it is a key number in the bible. He often made us all aware of how many times the number 7 was mentioned in the scriptures and said it was God's perfect number. By a strange coincidence Curtis entered the USA on March 7, 1980 from the Caribbean and had his tragic accident on March 7, 2010. Even when his life presented challenges and problems, he would seek to reassure you with these words "don't worry; everything is going to be alright." Curtis Washington.

Sincerely

Norma E. Washington
