Robert A. Sheridan

My husband, Robert A. Sheridan's quilt square is from his favorite hunting shirt. Hunting, and fishing stories included his brothers Don and Brian, friends Krafty, Mac, and Ros, plus Beagles-Shamrock, McDermott, and Fitzpatrick.

Bob grew up in West Scranton, graduated from Central HS and Penn State. Whether traveling to Happy Valley or taping the games during hunting season, many Saturdays included Penn State Football.

His children Wendy Nowicki, her husband Eric, Rob, Stacey Summa and her husband Chris enriched his life. Hatfield PA and New Orleans became our vacation spots. Holding our first grandchild, Natalie Nowicki, change is life. His heart expanded to include brother Ryan and cousin Rocco and Bella Summa. The most precious thing Grandpa Bob gave them was his time. He became their playmate. Games, puzzles, fishing, and tennis were all part of their lives. They all wanted him to "drive the boat" at Chapman Lake.

Bob liked trying new things like skydiving. He also loved to win-marathon backgammon games against his sister Karen, as well as family poker and pinochle games.

When bob and I married in 1980, we blended two great Irish families. He then loved all things Pittsburgh-the Pirates, Penguins, Steelers, and the Quinlin/Dillon families.

Bob = STUFF. All joked about his philosophy of "why buy one when you can buy many." This is true about Hershey Bars and Reading Glasses. He was a master recycler, never liking to throw things away. Rubber bands and pill bottles were reused to back his cloths for a trip and sort nails.

We enjoyed all things Bob but remembered that he couldn't tell a joke. He made all our lives better. His last gift to us was his corneas, tissues, and bones. Thank you, Bob.
