Dear Scott,

We were asked by the Gift of Life to do a quilt square to memorialize your life and the gifts you gave so others may live. After much thought and several starts and stops, we wanted to share our ideas with you.

We remembered back to a time when black was your favorite color and a big part of your wardrobe. It was only natural that the main color in the square is black. The background we chose had twinkling stars and had a celestial/heavenly look to it. We know that you are watching over us and were always the center of our universe. We were able to find someone material with musical notes and remembered your love of music and playing the guitar. The playing cards represent many things, The Hollywood Casino for your 21st birthday, the bus trip to Atlantic City and of course Delaware Park where we spent our last Mother’s Day. You were on a winning streak that day. We know that you’ll remember the pictures from Rehoboth Beach where we spent many happy summers. I took a picture of you and Dad and Dad took one of you and me. I remember telling you then when you look at the picture of you and I, just know that I’m looking at you with love in my eyes.

I think we were all a little innocent and naïve those last few months. Never realizing we were doing the last of many things with you. Not knowing life as we knew it was about to come to an end. We would never be that happy again. I know that you will recognize Bella; she is 19 months old now and weighs 30lbs. So much for our teacup Pomeranian. The photo on the right is actually a picture of your heart taken by Ultrasound. It was actually a gift from the gentleman who received your heart and liver.

Not a day goes by that we don’t miss you, think about you or talk about you. You are forever in our hearts Beautiful Boy.

Love,

Mom and Dad
