Raymond E. Strawser

Little brother, daddy, uncle and friend passed away in June 2011 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. At the time of his passing, Ray was employed as a State Correctional Officer at Graterford Prison, a position of which he was very proud of achieving after having to leave the road as a long distance coast-to-coast truck driver over a decade. Before going on the road, he served his country in the United States Marine Corp immediately after graduating from Lower Dauphin High School in 1991. As a veteran, Ray had the privilege of burial with military honors at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

When not working, Ray could be found outside hunting, fishing or cruising around on his bike with the Graterford Pride motorcycle club from the prison. If weather would not permit these outdoor hobbies, he spent hours listening to music and watching his very large and eclectic movie collection with family and friends.

Family was of the utmost importance to Ray, especially the time he spent with his only daughter Miranda. He and Miranda loved going for hikes together with their two dogs Rex and Roxy.

Ray was a very big guy with a HUGE hears; he would do anything for anyone. The fact that he was an organ donor and able to help so many people is just a part of who this amazing man was to all of us and will never be forgotten. He is missed so much.
