I feel blessed to be able to add a square to the memorial quilt, as my brother was able to save and improve many lives. Because of this my family and I could find peace in his untimely death. Many things make up my square; my brother was a free kind soul. He was loved by many and always wore a smile. Two of Michael’s pastimes were NASCAR and football; two of his favorite sports. The eagle represents my brother flying free and accepting his life’s path. Finally, the snowflakes represent his love of snow and how he spent his winters. Which is how he spent his last night with us, doing exactly what he loved and that was being free!
