Marty received a full scholarship to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Being from a small mining town in NE Pennsylvania, he was overwhelmed by the big university and the even bigger city. But after some wise words from a professor he decided to stay and therein lies the tale. He grew to love Penn and the city: Franklin Field (Ivy League football), Houston Hall, The Palestra (Penn-Princeton Basketball), having cocktails among the mummies in the university museum, the class of ‘62’s statue of Ben Franklin on Locust Walk. He bled red and blue for Penn (don’t ANYBODY mix it up with Penn State).
