After graduating from Mullins High School in West Virginia, Jack joined the U.S. Navy. He retired after 22 years. For 17 of those years he was an FMF corpsman stationed with the Marines. He spent 2 ½ years in Viet Nam and was awarded the Navy Cross, the Bronze Star and several Purple Hearts. After his discharge from Military service Jack went to Johnson College and was the oldest student in the freshman class.

He had two daughters and two sons, twelve grandchildren and one great grandson.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest. During the nice weather he loved taking road trips on his Harley. He was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, baking and making candy at Christmas and Easter.

Jack was an active member of American Legion Post 314 and volunteered with the local United Veteran’s Organization doing military honors at funerals.

His family and friends miss him very much.
