I never thought much about organ donation until my son Matthew died. Matthew had a big heart and was always helping people. Matthew’s heart, liver and kidneys were donated to the Gift of Life. The rainbow on Matt’s quilt signifies my sons passage to heaven. Right after Matt died there was a rainbow in the sky. To the right of the rainbow is a sunset. Matt used to ride his bike or his car down to the bay and watch sunsets. In school, Matt played baseball, football and wrestling. His favorite sport was wrestling. Matts favorite place that he went to was Germany. My mom is from Germany and she took Matt, his two brothers and my dad to Germany about 10 years ago. Matt loved it over there and wanted to always go back. Matthew worked in the restaurant business. He was a waiter, cook, and manager. It was in the restaurant that he met his girlfriend. His girlfriend Hannah and her daughter Grace were a big part of his life. I miss you Matt. I miss your beautiful face, your laugh and your smile.
