Gift of Life CEO to retire after four decades of leading the organ procurement organization

The longtime president and CEO of the Philadelphia-based Gift of Life Donor Program is retiring in January.

Howard M. Nathan has led the nonprofit organization since 1984, making him the longest-serving chief executive of any organ procurement organization in the United States.

During his tenure, Gift of Life has evolved into one of the largest organ procurement organizations in the country. It has led the nation in the most organ donors for the past 13 years.
