Gift of Life Donor Program Advanced Practice Coordinator Timothy J. Snyder, CCEMTP, CPTC has been named President-elect of NATCO, North American Transplant Coordinators Organization.

Philadelphia, PA —– Gift of Life Donor Program Advanced Practice Coordinator Timothy J. Snyder, CCEMTP, CPTC has been named President-elect of NATCO, North American Transplant Coordinators Organization.

Snyder, who has been active with NATCO for almost two decades, will assume presidency of the organization at its annual meeting in 2018. He has served as treasurer of the organization for the past four years and has been a member of its Board of Directors since 2011.

“Tim will bring exceptional leadership and expertise to his new role with NATCO and will continue to be a powerful advocate for organ donation,” says Gift of Life Donor Program President & CEO Howard M. Nathan. “He expressly understands the value of advocating for patients in need of transplantation and the importance of providing compassionate care to donor families dealing with personal tragedy.”

Snyder began his career in organ procurement at Gift of Life Donor Program in 2000; one year after his son received a life-saving liver transplant after waiting for an organ for five years. Prior to his tenure at Gift of Life, Snyder worked as a paramedic in the City of Allentown, PA and as a flight paramedic for Lehigh Valley Hospital, also in Allentown. He says that these experiences have shaped his perspective and guided his work every day for the past 17 years.

“It has been an honor to have been involved with the OPO (organ procurement organization) community for the past 17 years and I am proud to represent NATCO and Gift of Life Donor Program at a national level”, says Snyder. “During my career, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by great leaders who have inspired me personally and professionally to excel in what I consider to be one of the most challenging professions.”
