Nineteen times last year, Temple University Hospital employees traveled to Philadelphia’s Gift of Life Howie’s House to cook meals for organ transplant patients and their families who are staying there.
Recently, Gift of Life Donor Program repaid that generosity when it delivered hundreds of meals to Temple employees fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We had been thinking of ways we could support the healthcare providers who are on the frontline,” says Richard Hasz, vice president of clinical services for Gift of Life. “Temple is one of the largest supporters of organ donation and the Gift of Life Howie’s House’s Home Cook Heroes Program. This was our way of saying thank you.”
