The medal haul was impressive: 10 gold and two silver in 13 events.
But the level of competition at the Transplant Games of America held last month in Salt Lake City was well let the guy who came away with all the hardware put it in perspective:
“We were joking that (competing) seemed like what we do with little kids; you know, give them participation trophies,” said Jamie Kegerise, 62, a 1974 Gov. Mifflin grad, who lives in Wilmington, Del. “That’s sort of the way it felt to me. But it was more for fun, just a lot of wonderful people to meet. Everyone has a story, like Jeff’s and my story.”
