Liver recipient Lloyd Saba, of Dover, spoke about the need for organ donors by relating the story of his February 2008 lifesaving liver transplant to Dover Capitol City Rotary club members at their March 23 meeting at Maple Dale Country Club.
Saba told of his process waiting for a compatible organ. There are more than 600 Delawareans and more than 120,000 people in the U.S.waiting for lifesaving organ transplants.
“Point. Click. Save Lives,” is Delaware’s statewide campaign for organ and tissue donor awareness, sponsored by Gift of Life Donor Program and the Delaware Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Board whose efforts are aimed at saving the lives of thousands of Delawareans awaiting life-saving transplants.
