The square on this quilt is just a piece of the great life and legacy of the beloved Ruth Olive Stewart whose life began on December 29, 1931 and entered the Kingdom of God on Thursday, October 26, 2006.
Ruth was the mother of six beautiful daughters whom she showered with love, happiness, guidance, and strength. Mom was full of wit, humor, and generosity. She had a fondness for fishing, a knack for knitting, a craving for crocheting, a bliss for baking, a passion for puzzles, and a regard for reading. Ruthie, as some friends called her, enjoyed socializing with all types of people. Especially pleasing to her were the great times that we all had when we gathered together. Positive thoughts and uplifting words were always with her. During difficult moments reassurance could be found in her lessons about life. We all have our “stories” about mom which keeps her spirit close and our hearts filled. If is it true that we are what we live, then we are of the spirit of a wonderful, compassionate, strong woman.
