Myrddin Lloyd Jones

June 15, 1934- November 21, 2008

Myrrdin was born and raised in Llangefni, Anglesey, North Wales. He was the oldest child and had two brothers and a sister. His father was a captain in the British Navy and away during World War II. His mother looked after the family shoe store while his father was at sea.

Myrrdin had a very happy childhood and enjoyed summers spent by the sea. He won a scholarship to the London School of Economics and graduated with a Masters Degree in Business. After working in England for a few years he and a friend immigrated to Canada.

He met and married his wife, Margaret and had three children – David, Alison, and Neal. He eventually moved to the United States to work and became a U.S. citizen in July 2008.

After retiring from business, Myrddin worked part time for Marriott Hotels and loved greeting and talking to the guests. He was very proud of his Welsh heritage and enjoyed talking to people about Wales, its beauty and its history. He spoke Welsh fluently and taught his many friends a Welsh toast "ilchyd da" which means "good health".

Myrddin enjoyed playing soccer and tennis. He was an avid photographer and loved spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren, Dafydd, Hero, Grace, Jack, and Maggie. He loved life and lived it to the fullest! Myrddin was a wonderful husband, father and Taid (Welsh for grandfather) and is sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
