Leon J. Zimmerman

Leon loved life. He was usually smiling, as depicted by the photo that was chosen for this patch.

He was a very hard worker. He did not know the meaning of "slow down" or "please take it easy". Those were my constant pleas to him. He was in the carpet business for 45 years. He truly was my "world's greatest carpet man." He did not know how to slow down or relax when it came to work.

Having grown up on a farm and owning a farm himself, hard work was all he knew. He was a friend to all, helping others in so many ways. If anyone needed to have something done, Leon was right there to do it. No questions asked. Well maybe one' "When do you need me to start?"

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. His great grandson was born just months after he passed away. He also became a God-father two years ago.

The words of the song on the patch were from Vince Gills' song that was one of Leon's favorites.

He loved giving to others; that is why being an organ donor was a high priority for Leon. It was his last gift.
