The Gift of Life Donor Program has given me this wonderful opportunity to share a small part of my husband Rich with many people. Making the quilt gave me great comfort and peace. Rich's hobby was his passion for cars. Actually anything on wheels. Many cars came and went over the years, but I've shared the special ones. Rich's quilt patch is all about him. The red white and blue material is a piece left over from curtains I had made for his garage, which was more like a rec. room where he just happened to park his cars. Of the 4 pictured, the red 33 Chevy was his first street rod. The blue 62 Chevy the black 55 Chevy and the purple/silver/black Model A were 3 that came and stayed. The quote at the bottom of the quilt I found on a fender skirt which he had hanging on a wall. He collected many things over the years and now I can sit in his rec. room garage and have many memories of different places we have been together. Rich was a very hard worker who loved his family and life. He will always be in my heart.
