The quilt block represents the life of Albert Nichols, a kind, gentle man who was loved and admired by all whose lives he touched. On it are two of the many tatted ornaments he made as gifts for those he loved. It also bears a pin representing the Origami Society of America, of which he was a member. Origami was a passion of Albert's and he served as an origami instructor at the Franklin Township Library. It was a great joy of his to feed the hummingbirds and watch them zip from feeder to feeder! Albert was a 4-H Leader and President of the NJ State 4-H Leader Association: he was dedicated to serving young people and took great pride in watching them grow and learn. In his later years, he worked as a school crossing guard and was cherished by the children he saw each day.
He leaves behind him his best friend and wife, Evelyn; his two daughters and their husbands, Amy and Kenneth Carpinelli and Jennifer and John Beale. He was proudest of all of his granddaughters, Kelsi and CJ Beale and Rachel Carpinelli. He is missed by his many, many friends.
Albert was a veteran of the US Army and a long-time employee of Ecko Products, where he participated in every Blood Drive they ran- calling it his privilege to donate. He believed in serving others and lived his life according to that belief.
