James L. Ritter

Jimmy was born in 1945 in Oberlin, Pennsylvania, his parents Ferdinand & Barbara Ritter, also joining his family were 2 younger sisters Barbara & Lorraine.

We met when he was 13 years old and married 8 years later in 1966.

Jimmy served in Viet Nam from 1966 thru 1967, he was a Spec 4 in the Army, this awarded him being buried with full Honors in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery after his death on May 1, 2010.

We had 2 children Lisa & Jeffrey, who now are both deceased. Lisa requested that we both sign up to be Organ Donors, little did we know, we would have to donate Lisa's organs first in 2004.

Lisa blessed us with 1 grandson Jeremy, this special boy continues to delight us everyday.

The quilt square shows his obsession with collecting toys, everything from Hess Trucks, Pez Dispensers, G I Joe's, Toy Story Figures, Nascar Model Cars & Trucks, too many things to list.

Many of these items are now boxed up in floor to ceiling Roughneck containers, because like everything he did, it was excessive.

Jimmy loved listening to 60s music, having many 45's, tapes & CD's.

He could watch the Andy Griffith Show from morning to night, I think he knew the lines from the shows by heart.

His other passion was playing the slots at Dover Downs.

In following our daughter's request, at his passing he became a donor to The Gift of Life Program.
