This quilt square was made in honor of our daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Appleby by Joan Janeka, her aunt.
Jessica's wish to become an organ donor was granted when she died on December 13, 2010. She was able to help numerous people with her generous donation. We know that this was Jessica's ultimate gift and wish from her here on earth.
She was not only beautiful on the outside but her inner beauty showed in everything that she did. Jessica was a very kind, considerate, compassionate young woman. She touched a lot of lives, with just a simple hello, a touch of her hands, her infectious laugh or that beautiful, bright smile she had. Jessica loved life and everyone around her unconditionally. She did not realize the impact she had on people.
The angels on the block represent Jessica alive here on earth and in heaven. She was always helping and rallying for the less fortunate or for someone in need.
Jessica had a love of owls and we feel that she was very wise for her 23 years. She knew what she wanted in life. Jessica will always be remembered by her family and friends and will always be forever beautiful. Her gift of life will live on in the people she helped through her donations.
