Charles P. Ankerbrand, Jr.

February 24, 1949 – April 24, 2010

To everyone who knew him, he was “Rick” and he always had a smile on his face and he was a really nice guy. Rick was a hard worker, a good friend, song and brother. He was a wonderful husband, a devoted father and a fantastic “Pappy Rick”.

Rick’s passion was hunting, target practice, reloading shells and collecting guns. His other passion was NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhart. He enjoyed watching football; he also enjoyed nature and the outdoors.

I was honored and blessed to be Rick’s wife; I would often say that he was the best thing to happen to me. He was my everything, we were soul mates, we were meant to be together. The week before his accident we celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary; we both agreed that we wouldn’t change a thing and we were blessed. We have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren..always smiling when he was around them.

Rick had so many friends, he was kind and he listened to people when they talked, always smiling and his smile was sincere, it came from his heart.

Rick was a born again Christian, he always said he was ready when the good Lord called him home, that is a comfort to us. We know we will see him again.

It was said by a friend after Rick’s death…..if you go to the dictionary and look up ” a good man” you would find Rick’s name…….I think that says everything and everyone who knew him would agree.

We love & miss you Rick,
