Anthony "Tony" DeAngeles

Tony DeAngeles was a loving husband, devoted son, brother and proud father of 2 beautiful children Amanda, age 19 and Jacob, age 16 that were everything to him.

This quilt piece represents a few of the things that meant a lot to him. The red, white and blue fabric as well as the Navy Uniform represents his patriotism that he felt so strongly about since he served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy. The karate uniform represents his passion. Obtaining his 2nd degree Black Belt while battling Bladder Cancer was one of the greatest accomplishments of his life.

The picture that was selected for this quilt piece was taken in Hawaii which was the whole family's favorite vacation spot. Tony and his wife had plans to retire to Hawaii upon retirement. Traveling with his wife and children was something Tony looked forward to every year.

"Faith, Family, Friends" was a motto that Tony was living by during his battle with cancer. He believed that having your faith, your family beside you and good friends to be with you was all that was needed to carry him through each day of his journey.

He was loved by all and will be dearly missed by everyone whose life was touched by his. One of his greatest gifts was the ability to provide sight to 2 recipients through the donation of his corneas. We are honored that a part of him has been able to help someone else.
