Deb spent most of her life helping others. While working for the Catasauqua Area School District, she maintained a supply of treats and small gift for children who needed a moment of special attention. Whenever she went shopping she would purchase items needed by some child or family. When she passed, her friends and family established the Mrs. Nothstein's Helping Hands Fund, so that the joy of giving could continue in her name. There seems to be a never ending stream of contributions keeping the fund healthy. The quilt square shows the logo for Deb's fund, a Catasauqua Area School District pin and symbols of her church, through which she extended her generosity. Her gift of life was no surprise for someone who spent her life helping others. Through her fund, her family derives great comfort in fact that so much of what was Deb lives on.
