Richard Shepsko

Richard was born in Phoenixville, Pa. on October 14, 1949. As the youngest of five children, he was affectionately known as “Ricky”. He excelled in sports, particularly baseball, tennis and football. After graduating from St. Pius X High School, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard during the Vietnam War. After the war he was assigned to the Naval Investigative Service in New York City. The flags on his square represent the pride he felt during his tenure as a sailor.

After getting his degree from Montgomery County Community College, he spent most of his career as a programming manager for Shared Medical Systems (Siemens). The yellow print square is from one of his favorite neckties.

Richard loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting with sons, Jonathan and Chris. The green and beige square is from his favorite sport shirt.

Later in life he took up golf and was thrilled to be able to join Phoenixville Country Club were her served on the Board of Governors for six years. He won many tournaments and loved the competitive nature of golf as well as the camaraderie he enjoyed with fellow golfers.

Richard was married to Barbara for 38 years and he treasured his wife and sons more than anything in this world. For the last eight years of his life he bravely battled Pulmonary Hypertension, coping with his dependence on oxygen. At the age of 61, he lost his fight with this disease on August 4, 2011.
