John E. Burkhardt

12/5/56 – 10/11/11

Our memorial square represents many aspects of John’s life. Each logo we used is from something he owned and the background fabric is from his favorite golf jacket.

Besides being a loving husband, son, father of three, grandfather of five, uncle and friend of so many, he was a smart, successful businessman. The Certified Inspection Service, LLC logo was from his own building inspection company he established and built to be very reputable in our surrounding communities. The boxer logo represents his most recent dogs, Winnie and Holly, whom he enjoyed teaching, playing with and taking to work. His favorite Winnie is with him now. John’s love for hunting started early on in his life and grew to a hobby to be shared with his son, grandson and nephews. He enjoyed attending an annual “themed” deer camp with many friends, which is where the Survivor hunting logo is from. John was introduced to golf by his father-in-law and became an avid golfer. He loved playing with many friends locally, shared many golf trips to the south, and most recently in Ocean City, MD. The Beach Club logo was a favorite course in OC and the other golf logo is from his favorite local course, Woodstone. The last logo from AKE Marine, Ocean City represents multiple favorites of John’s. He enjoyed a beautiful beach vacation condo, family beach time, and lots of fishing, clamming and boating.

John lived life to the fullest and we cherish these memories we have of him. Your smile is forever missed and we know you are watching over us. The accident took him away from us much too soon and unfortunately we were only able to donate “the gift of sight”, but are comforted to know two lives were helped because of his donation.
