Christopher R. Keating Jr.

It’s hard to go through life once you’ve lost a loved one. I miss my brother more than I can imagine. But I have never really been angry or upset that he is gone. When I think about Chris, I think about everything he did to shape me into the man I am today. He was such a good man and he taught me values that I use every day. He taught me how to be a hard worker, he taught me how to be tough, and he taught me how to be strong for others. I still let the lessons he taught me impact my life now. So I can’t feel sad or angry that he’s gone because when I think of him, I think of the advice he’s giving me. I think of him before each football game and I can hear him telling me to be aggressive on the field and to show toughness and he’s telling me that no matter how hard it may get out there, that I can never back down and I must get the job done. I let that fuel me on the field and I play to try to make him proud. And I know he’s proud of what I’m accomplishing today and I know he’s proud of the man I have grown up to be. And I can only thank him for helping me reach these accomplishments. So when I think of him I’m not angry or upset, no, I just smile and thank him because I know he’s smiling and proud of me.
