Charlotte Whiteside

This quilt square was made with much love and sorrow. Charlotte’s death was sudden with no definitive cause given. Charlotte was a loving mother to her only child, Danielle. She was an amazing, kind, selfless daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Charlotte had a spirit and amazing smile that was contagious and would light up a room. Charlotte was the oldest of three children, a younger sister and brother. Charlotte was a big kid at heart and never minded when this was brought to her attention. Her trips to amusement parks, the zoo, the circus, hay rides and ball games would almost always include her daughter, or grandson, niece, nephew, a friends’ child. Charlotte loved taking her mom to the Billy Joel-Elton John venues. Charlotte was in band throughout jr. high and high school. The flute was her instrument of choice. After high school, she was very proud to play her flute and march with the community alumni band in Chichester, PA. She loved all sports but the Phillies and the Redskins were her favorite teams.

Charlotte’s father was a recipient of two liver transplants. He succumbed to his health issues in 1991. From that day forward Charlotte spoke of returning the “Love” someday.

Charlotte was the main caretaker for her grandson, who was the light of her days and nights. A second grandson came into the world in 2013.

If I could have a lifetime wish

A dream that would come true

I’d pray to God with all my heart for yesterday and you

A thousand words won’t bring you back

I know because I’ve tried

And neither will a thousand tears

I know because I’ve cried

You left behind my broken heart and happy memories too

I never wanted memories

I only want you!

I will love you always

Mom xo
