George B. Zwartjes

August 28, 1953 – March 2, 2012

The top left picture is George playing with Tucker his only grandchild at the time of his death. He loved his family very much.

The patch at the top right represents George’s love for vintage cars. He was working on restoring a 1955 Chevy when he passed away. The bottom right patch is a picture of George driving his Chevy for the first time.

The sewing machine represents George’s hobby of upholstering furniture and car interiors. He spent many happy hours in his shop.

The heart represents the hereditary heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) that he suffered with most of his life. Eventually, this disease was the cause of his death. He did not let this disease hold him down. He was very active until the day he died. It also represents how much we love him. We all miss him terribly.

The bottom left patch represents the donation of his corneas. The receiver of this gift was Lions Eye Bank of Delaware. His donation helped two people to see.

The stars in the background and border fabrics represent the heavens were he is now.
