Zachary Rufo
Zachary was full of life and lived every day to its fullest. He brought joy to all who knew him. He was kind, helpful, and generous to a fault. Zachary was twelve years old when he died of sudden cardiac arrest. Being an organ and tissue donor allowed Zachary to give his last, most precious gifts.
Zachary’s quilt square is made from one of his favorite dress shirts. He loved to dress up for school and special occasions. Displayed on the square is a recipe for “A Zachary Day”. It was written by Zachary’s Aunt Linda using descriptors collected from family members.
A Zachary Day
Start the day with a warm and kind heart
Gently blend extra-large scoops of affection
Mix with generous amounts of kindness and patience
Toss in some extract of orneriness
Combine with kindhearted words of encouragement
Sprinkle in a great-big sincere heart full of caring
Top with a kiss
Share selflessly with friends and strangers alike
Wrap leftovers with a bear hug and share again tomorrow!
