Anytime you saw Lloyd and asked how he was doing, he would always reply…
"NEVER HAD A BAD DAY!"
His positive outlook is probably the 1st thing that people remember about him.
In truth Lloyd overcame many trials but never let anything get him down.
His greatest passion was snorkeling in the Caribbean.
Even while on oxygen we went on a snorkeling vacation. Because he was environmentally sensitive, he wore dive skins instead of sunscreen. He chose the most wildly colored ones he could find. That is what I decided to use to make his memorial quilt panel. The fish is made of swatches from four of his dive skins.
Lloyd was all about giving back. That's why Organ and Tissue donation was so important to him. That and his love for the ocean is also why he was buried at sea.
He became part of an eternal reef. An eternal reef is made when your loved ones remains are mixed with concrete and formed into a reef ball. The "reef ball" has a personalized placard on it and then is sunk into the ocean.
Lloyd's reef ball is joined with twenty others in Sarasota, Florida.
Now he really doesn't have any "BAD DAYS."
I was married to this extraordinary man for fifteen short years.
