Michael DeBiase

My son, Michael Frank DeBiase Jr., was much more than an organ donor. He was my son, a dad to his son Benny,  a brother to Connor, a husband to Sara, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin and friend.

He loved his son Benny more than life. The day he became a dad was the happiest day of his life. He was an amazing big brother; Connor  loves him so much. He was my Sunshine – his smile could light up a room. He loved the water and New York City, and he attended Fashion Institute of Technology for jewelry design. He loved “bling” and he wanted to be made into a diamond, so we had his ashes made into 13 of them … so he will always shine bright. He loved tattoos; he had too many to count. He was an apprentice on his way to becoming a barber. He had big dreams. He wanted to be a better man for his son.

He was 23 when he passed away from an aneurysm. That day changed the lives of so many. In his death, six others received a new lease on life through the miracle of organ donation.
