George J. Fusaro Sr.

George J. Fusaro, Sr. (Big George) was born on August 10, 1935, and married Mary E. Miller on June 12, 1960. His family was his most treasured possession. He was so proud of his five children, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His love of family and friends was clearly seen at our traditional Sunday dinners… a chance to take a break and come together. Dad was very close to all of his siblings, being the youngest of nine, and often visited them after shopping at the Italian Market dropping off their favorite goodies. Cooking was one of his favorite pastimes. He was an excellent cook which was a good thing since he loved to eat. In addition to cooking, he loved music- especially Frank Sinatra. At weddings or special parties, my aunts would always coax him to sing “My Way” – they were his biggest fans!

Our dad had a bigger than life personality. When he walked into a room his presence was known immediately. We’ve been told often recently that when our dad talked to you, he looked you right in the eyes making you feel like you were the only person in the room. He was well-loved by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Being a business owner was another lifetime accomplishment. He was in many different businesses during his life, but no matter what the business venture, he gave 100% of his energy and commitment. Many of his customers visited us after his death to let us know how honored they were to know him. This was no surprise to us.

While our dad donated his liver, we like to believe that some of his heart was donated too. His heart was big and full of love for family and friends.

We love and miss him every day.
