This quilt square is in honor of our hero Mike. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. Family was the most important thing in the world to Mike. Mike had a smile that would light up the whole room, and he had the sense of humor to go along with it.
Mike was always there when his help was needed, even if, he wasn’t feeling his best. He fought a courageous three and a half year battle with rectal cancer never once giving up. Mike didn’t let the cancer hold him back from doing anything. He was an amazing father and was always there for his daughter Rylee, who was 5-years-old when Mike went to his forever home. She was Daddy’s Little Girl from the moment she was born, and nothing in the world made him happier than that.
It isn’t a surprise that Mike’s last gift to the world was the gift of sight. Mike is our hero and our butterfly. Every time we see a butterfly, it lets us know that Mike is with us and always will be. We know that Mike will always be by our side no matter what. We love and miss you Mike.
