“Meet me where the sun touches the sea.”
Azalyn’s quilt square was inspired by her love of the beach, here her memory is captured in a bordering glimpse of that horizon.
In addition to the beach, Azalyn loved to dance. As a child, she was always hard to get off the dance floor when it was time to go home. She kept up to date on the latest dances and would dance everywhere. Azalyn also liked adventure… never being afraid of heights or new activities. While vacationing, she especially loved horseback riding, finding the local candy stores, antique shops where she would look for old black and white photographs, visit old graveyards and take the ghost tours.
From the time Azalyn was little she had a heart for others that completely amazed me, she loved big. For not only us, her family and friends, but also the compassion she had for others. Donating her long blonde hair for locks of love, making friends with new kids at school, and feeding a homeless person is some of the many ways she had given to others. At the young age of 19, Azalyn had chosen to be an organ donor, never expecting the day would have come so soon.
Azalyn is forever in our hearts. Always remembered, always missed, always loved. Until we can meet her where the sun touches the sea… that’s Heaven to me.
